ESC Celebrates LDE UTC’s Exceptional Ofsted Success

The Engineering Skills College is proud to celebrate the exceptional achievement of our parent school, London Design & Engineering UTC, following its recent Ofsted inspection under the new national framework.

LDE UTC has been awarded five Exceptional judgements — the highest recognition possible — placing the school among the very first nationally to achieve this standard under the revised inspection approach. Inspectors recognised the school as delivering education “of the highest standard nationally” and highlighted practice from which “other schools can learn.”

For ESC, this success reflects the strength of the wider learning community we are part of. The inspection praised the school as “a safe, welcoming environment where pupils thrive,” and recognised that “for many pupils, attending this school is life changing.” The report also celebrated an “exceptional curriculum” shaped through strong employer partnerships and praised how learners leave as confident young professionals who are “more than ready for the workplace or further study.”

This achievement reinforces the shared mission across LDE UTC and the Engineering Skills College: delivering high-quality, industry-focused education that genuinely transforms lives and prepares learners for successful futures in engineering, design, construction and related sectors.
