Thames Water

Thames Water is a major employer across East and South East London. They provide clean water and remove and treat used water (sewage) for London and most of the Thames Valley, serving a population of nearly 15 million customers. At the last count, they employed over 6,000 people in total with over 2,000 across the East London corridor. Their workforce is getting older and they need to encourage young people into the industry, so this College is an ideal way to help young people towards future employment that suits their capabilities and interest.

Tideway

Tideway is a separate company from Thames Water and will be responsible for the construction of the Thames Tideway Tunnel, the major new sewer proposed to prevent the discharge of 18 million tonnes of untreated sewage into the tidal River Thames every year. This is one of the largest construction projects of its type in Europe. Tunnel construction on the project is due to start in 2016 and will involve 24 construction sites across London creating around 4,000 new jobs across London.
